Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA)
The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) has strategic responsibility for the UK's nuclear legacy with the clear aim of decommissioning 20 civil public sector nuclear sites safely, securely, and cost effectively, whilst protecting the environment. The NDA owns all the sites operated by the Magnox North and Magnox South regions of Magnox Electric Ltd.

With Headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah, EnergySolutions LLC is one of the world’s leading nuclear services management and decommissioning service providers. EnergySolutions, LLC owns Reactor Sites Management Company Ltd, which as a Parent Body Organisation, owns all the shares in Magnox Electric Ltd and provides management expertise for the duration of the contract with the NDA.

BNFL
British Nuclear Fuels (BNFL) is an international nuclear energy business. Also as a Parent Body Organisation, BNFL owns all the shares in Sellafield Ltd, which manages fuel recycling & decommissioning operations at Sellafield and Capenhurst on behalf of the NDA.
Sellafield Ltd
Sellafield Ltd is the Site Licence Company that manages the day-to-day operations at Sellafield and Capenhurst on behalf of the NDA. Activities centre around remediation, decommissioning and clean up of the historic legacy as well as operations within the Thorp and Magnox reprocessing plants, the Sellafield MOX plant and a wide range of waste management and effluent treatment facilities. Sellafield Ltd also owns 51% of the shares in International Nuclear Services with the NDA owning the remainding shares.
UKAEA
Founded in 1954, the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) initially pioneered the development of civil Nuclear energy in the UK. Since the early 1990s, the organisation has been focused on restoring the environment of nuclear sites and leading research into fusion power.
Nuclear Installations Inspectorate, The Nuclear Safety Directorate
The Health and Safety Commission is responsible for health and safety regulation in Great Britain. The Health and Safety Executive and local government are the enforcing authorities who work in support of the Commission.
Nexia Solutions
Part of the BNFL Group, Nexia Solutions is a nuclear technology solutions business. Employing around 1,000 people, the company supports customers in the areas of operating plants, decommissioning and clean-up, UK nuclear strategy and laboratory management.
BIL Solutions
BIL, part of British Nuclear Group Project Services supplies detection and measurement instrumentation and services to nuclear, medical, fire brigade, industrial, civil defence and military customers.
Direct Rail Services Ltd
Direct Rail Services (DRS), owned by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA), was established in 1995 to provide the UK nuclear industry with a strategic rail transport service.
Environment Agency
The Environment Agency is a leading public body for protecting and improving the environment in England and Wales. The EA works with nuclear sites and the Health and Safety Executive’s (HSE) Nuclear Installations Inspectorate. The EA oversees how nuclear sites in the UK dispose of their radioactive waste by granting site authorisations to the operators who run them. The Agency regularly inspects and monitors licence-holders to make sure that the standards they have set are being met.

Defra (The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) is focuses on improving the current and future quality of life. Defra, as one department, brings together the interests of farmers and the countryside; the environment and the rural economy; the food we eat, the air we breathe and the water we drink by integrating environmental, social and economic objectives - putting sustainable development into practice every day, and by championing sustainable development as the way forward for the UK Government.

Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA)
SEPA (The Scottish Environment Protection Agency is Scotland’s environmental regulator and adviser, responsible to the Scottish Parliament through Ministers. As well as controlling pollution, SEPA works with others to protect and improve the environment in Scotland.

WANO unites nuclear operators worldwide to exchange operating experience in a culture of openness, so members can work together to achieve the highest possible standards of nuclear safety.
